As the distractions of the virtual world churn within the mind, it is these very distractions that become loudest thoughts and loudest voices within our heads. Everything from the undeniable need to constantly check our smartphones to constantly checking on our kids is the result of the wandering of the mind.
Well, that is the problem with developing multiple interests. The challenge always lies in completing a job well, before moving onto the next one that our head churns out. In other words, boredom is the greatest challenge to multiple intelligence, not because it is something to avoid, rather, because it is everything to accept.
The first boy was shocked and looked down at himself. He did look puny when compared to the other boy. The first boy then thought that maybe the second boy was right indeed. Maybe he was not fit enough to climb this tall a mountain. Maybe he should go back home.
After years of ignoring my gut’s call, I have realised this the painful way. Many of us abuse our gut in different ways. We eat the wrong food, we eat at the wrong time, and sometimes we don’t eat at all. All of this, in turn, damages our growth physically, mentally and emotionally. Because it is the gut that feeds the brain.
Even as the poor, little thing reached out to just about everyone in the whole wide world around it, the whole wide world only turned it away.
