Imagine yourself standing on a road that needs to be crossed. You will obviously look at both sides to ensure that the road is clear. Now imagine yourself standing on a divided road that needs to be crossed. You will have to look at only one side at a time. Life has grown to work like that. By looking at only one half of the situation, we have trained ourselves to think and work with a singular view point, whether it be positive or negative.
Jealousy is a feeling that is always right around the corner. One little incident, and bang! it appears right alongside our thoughts. Some of us tend to consider jealousy as a negative feeling – a feeling that is wrong to feel. But as long as we keep it at bay, jealousy can be the greatest motivator.
I have wandered a lot, I have wandered through many a thought. I have wondered what life was all about, right from birth to the final journey.
The boy thought for a while. “I can say they are better than I am. But when I practice, I become just as good as they are. And yet, they win. Why do you think it is that way, Dad?”
Our emotions and thoughts are what defines the state of our mind. And when our emotions and thoughts are attached to others, then we come dangerously close to losing ourselves. Because the more we move towards others, the more we move away from ourselves.
